FORUM REPORTS

What we heard from communities, First Nations, and partners at our regional, sub-regional and virtual gatherings.

Forum & Gathering Reports Overview

2025

In 2025, we convened our third regional Forum and brought together local farmers and First Nations in the Hope Slough area of Chilliwack to strengthen collaboration around flood resilience, food security, and ecosystem restoration. These gatherings are shaping our regional advocacy and advancing ongoing dialogue between the agricultural sector and First Nations. With another atmospheric river impacting the region in December 2025, the urgency of this work has only deepened.

2024
Our 2024 gatherings brought together First Nations, local governments, and regional partners across the coastal, tidal, mid-, and upper-river areas. Themes included shared flood risks, emergency coordination, ecosystem-based solutions, infrastructure gaps, and opportunities for stronger nation-to-nation and regional collaboration.

2023
In 2023, dialogues focused on governance challenges, funding needs, and cross-sector relationships, including a dedicated Farmers & First Nations dialogue. These conversations strengthened understanding of shared risks, food security, and pathways toward integrated floodplain management.

2022
Reports from 2022 reflect early lessons from the 2021 atmospheric river, emphasizing the need for coordinated rebuilding, Indigenous leadership, and long-term integrated floodplain planning.
